got a vibrating nosie coming from what i think is the underside of the car but could it be a wheel bearing? its a its loudest round the 2500/3000 rpm would a wheel baring make that sort of nosie, or could it just be the exhaust as its just had a cat fitted so maybe one of the clamps??? thanks for the help?

wheel bearing for sure - if it gets louder and u go faster im almost certain.

Does the noise stay the same when you put your foot on the clutch (i.e. let the engine slow down to idle) while rolling at speed.. If so it is more than likely a wheel bearing.

yeah if i put the clutch in the nosie stays the same, how much to get the bearing fixed?

£10 for the parts (ebay) and £15 labour? ish? about £30 if you take it to a garage iirc.

£15 labour to do a wheel bearing??
Its ATLEAST a 1 hour job if everything goes smoothly.

ok... - then however much an hours labour costs. I remember getting one done (including the parts) for £30... maybe £40 about a year back.

is there anyway of telling its a wheel baring with just having a look around it, ie. anything lose nosie? as i just had a look but it sound like there is something rolling around in the tyre lol

Damn i got mine for my £90, i got ripped off a treat, this was my first car and the first time i got it fixed. You learn from your mistakes.
