Went to uni earlier today, 80 miles cost me about £3 in petrol...
Also went for a few trips to the loo... bit of a tricky one that!

i went from manchestre flew over to prague then used the trainticket thing you can get and from prague we went to Vienna, salzburg, Munich and to paris (would of had zurich in there but spent an extra day in munich instead).
total cost including everything while over there just under £800 (that was for 2 weeks) and that doesnt include the flights there and back as they were bought for me.
next trip for me when ever i get chance to do it is, rome up throught the south of france and end in barcelona.

decentish hostels yeh, ie £25 euros a night hostels not the 10-15
but when we were there we were talking to a few people and they were saying that hostels that are like £25-40 a night are miles better than cheap hotels

As in my sig...
Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong... over about 5-6 months...
Total inc flight prob 8-10k.
All depends where you stay, where you eat, what you do etc.
I was slightly stung by our uk economy going down the shitter and everything costing twice as much as it should (since the british pound was worthless)...
I reckon I could've done it for 5-6k total if credit crunch hadn't happened.

what do you mean?
accomidation?
Throughout asia mostly hotels (twin rooms with shower, air con and sometimes tv) for about £2-£4 each person a night.
and throughout Aus / NZ I stayed in hostels for $25-$30
which would be roughly £10-£20 a night for a bed ( depending on country etc).
The place I spent most money was New Zealand, all those sky dives, bungy jumps, jet boats, etc cost a fortune and each one you end up buying the photos and dvd's which are stupidly priced.

Hostels were really fun
To be honest most hostels were a very high standard, beds were clean and comfy enough. You meet people in each dorm, you have tv lounges where a lot of people hang out, good kitchens, great central locations etc. Great atmosphere.

some do, some don't.
Depends where you go.
Similarly, some have the option of female only dorms, or cheaper mixed ones.
It's not really too much of a problem if you are seperated, you just meet up in the common room or whatever.
