Right heres the deal!

Iv been offerd 18month old Jenvey bodies (45 or 46mm) and omex 600 management for £900!

Iv never really thought or wanted bodies but they sound amazing on his 2ltr zetec! i know im going to be £160 for a maniold then couple £££ for maping but would it be worth it? the car is used every day!

How much bhp would i gain form them? iv got a c20xe with a ashley manifold and powerflow system!

Won't you need a new loom though? Or at least lajor alterations, I can't imagine the connectors being the same from the XE and Zetec.

depends where you take it and how long it takes. base map normally do come on a cd with the ecu. i mean it will run ok on a base map, but would ideally need mapped to suit the engine.

As Nic has said, decent remap on TBs will cost about £250-£350. Mine cost me £320 at Noble Motorsport.
Up in scotland I'd take mine to Wallace Performance if I lived up there.

If you're moaning about mapping costs then TBs aren't for you tbh. If you want the best gains there is a large outlay at the beginning, and if you fit cams at a later date then you'll need another remap (C.£150+)

Be clear aswell, firstly a basemap is that; a map that gets the car running. There's a good 4hours work to get it performing to its best, and driveable in the lower revs.
Secondly, the map that is on the ECU is for a zetec, so it might aswell be a v8 - the map will be no good for your XE.

Do it! Is well worth it IMO, they would normally be the best part of £2k to get running, so if you can afford the bodies, get them...then save for a bit and them put em on and get it all mapped.

There was a vid up not long ago of someone wit bodies tanking around on a country road...have a watch and that will make you decide!

Decision made!
