the x16xel is from the astra as stated and no they are not a quick engine it would keep up with a gsi maybe but im sure the power output is different and the inlet manifold is a different shape as well

the engine code for a gsi engine is c16xe for a 1.6 sport it is x16xe and for the 1.4 sport it is x14xe and by what you have put it looks like you got the 1.6 sport bottom end and the 1.4 sport head, and if this is so then no it want be as quick as a gsi as the ports on the 1.4 head are smaller then a 1.6

Might be an astra head on it. Did the engine use a MAF meter?

Im not sure what it means but all the 1.4/1.6 16v astra's were X16XEL engines. Had slightly more torque but less bhp iirc.

Nothing special if thats what your asking

aye sounds like an astra engine running corsa gsi bits. doubt you would notice the difference n power. in the astra its a few bhp down but with gsi stuff on it it wont be far off the same
