VERY, VERY harsh. He didn't even move he just left his hands open to collect the ball.
It will get overturned no problem.

I hope so as i wouldnt like to see him out of the trip to old trafford, He tried to get out the way, a penalty was enough, he didnt need to be sent off, yellow at most, Think that showed by the reception the Liverpool fans gave him as he was going off, hard to dislike the guy, good honest decent keeper

Wasn't mch he could do really, also at 4-0 why ruin the game even more? Poor refereeing and I can only put it down to a downturn in disciplinary profits.

I'll also add that as far as Man Utd are concerned, that will not happen again, however Liverpool will get a daft draw against a lower table team come the run in. The thing I'm keeping an eye on is Villa/Arsenal/Everton situation.

I hope Villa get 4th, not so Arsenal or whoever misses out, I just think they've earnt it over the past few seasons.

bollocks, if villa get 4th then they will do exactly the same as everton and piss it away in the qualifiers against a barca or juventus (as they will be one of the lowest seeded teams) so why not let an english team with an actual chance get it!
their only hope is that the intl break reverses their fortunes cos we hstill have cesc, adebayor, rosicky, walcott and eduardo to come back yet

Great result for us. Have shown Utd that we can take advantage of their loss this late in the season and hopefully go on to take on more of their losses come the end of the season.

Nice result for us, good to see gerrard get a hatrick too I think fulham was a bit of a freak game and even though I think manure will still drop a few more points here and there it's still most definitely in there favour right now.
Agreed re Friedel tbh, no need to send him off with the game already won and he obviosly tried to make himself small.

Awesome display by liverpool (glad as a Arsenal supporter
Did think the sending off was harsh and IMO you 'could' argue was not a pen...why you might ask..
Friedel moved out to close the angle then stopped, Tores kicked the ball past him and them went over him. No-where in the rule does it say you have to get out of the way of a running person. As long as you remain still and don't stick out a leg/hand then its up to the attacking player to get round the defending player.
The same happens outfield. 'Normally' its a free kick becaue the defending player sticks a leg/arm out or turns around and moves in thier way. If they stand there and someone runs into them its not a free kick.
