How long does Gloss usually take to harden?

It's been on now 4 days and still quite soft. Want to sand it and put on the final coat.

It was a B&Q paint. Think it must have been a little dodgy. I'll give it a few more days as it will be sticky when i give it a little sand.

It's average in here really. Nice and cool at the minute but when it goes cold later on the heating will go on.

i got some b&q exterior gloss for some 'to let' board posts and it took best part of a week to dry completely even though they were in a nice warm room.

did you stir it up first?

why do you want to rub down gloss?
its the finish cot that you leave till it needs doing again n a few years.

Gave the tin a good stair but put it on straight from the tin as it recomends.

Need to give it a little rub down as when i put the wall paper up i knocked the paint in a few places. You only have to lean on it and it comes off. Paper had to go up fairly quick (next day after painted) as the carpet fitters were scheduled to come in.

Says on the tin that it doesn't require an undercoat.

Looking at the paint now, it has started to harden.

Crown full undercoat, Crown Gloss, can't go wrong. If you end up putting turps in it, it will take away a bit of the shine so mix linseed oil in the turps to replace it.

thats not true tbh if your flinging in so much turp's it take's the shine away from it you should'nt be using it for painting

i just use turp's for thinning the gloss and undercoat down so it flow's better so just a slight dash of turp's is fine

It does it makes it go flat if you just chuck it in like an amatuer, as you say a little spot can't harm anything, but I have to tell this Andrew the negatives because if he's 'bouncing' his woodwork he obviously needs to know.
