I can see the reasoning behind it, will encourage drivers to actually go for the win instead of playing the numbers and settling for a points position.

If it'll work that way or not I have no idea - could end up meaning the most consistant driver (i.e someone who has had a mix of both 1st and second finishes) could end up coming 2nd to someone who has won some but then come last in the rest.

thats what i mean, its not gonna end up being the most consisten (aka the best) driver... IMO... how often do we say the PL champion is wrong after 38 games...cant see why they need to fiddle with it

I prefer A1 as it's on a more even keel but F1 is going back to less driver aiding cars so I'm really looking forward to this new season.
