Hi there,

Need a bit of advice from the more savvy of you!

Ive got a 1996 1.4 16v Corsa Sport and im currently doing a head gasket job on it.

Ive done this before, so know whats what but i thought i would ask a simple question.

The head is ready to go to the engineers to be skimmed, all the cams removed and the bare minimum still left on, but on a car which has done 83k, would it be advisable to remove the valves and fit new ones when it comes back?

As im down this far in the engine i dont want to avoid doing a job which might really have to be done?

Any advice is great!

i would fit new stem seals and give the old valves a quick re-lap if it was me. also check the guides while the valves are out.
