Looking for a digital camera for not too much money that will help to produce good pictures.
I want to start taking quality pictures as I am away to buy a new car soon and basicly want tips on car photography please

How much do you have to spend? Do you want an DSLR for just a compact?

That much will get you a decent enough compact. Id recommend a canon based on lens quality. The 82IS is in that region, dont forget it wont come with a memory card, they are cheap enough on amazon though.

Ok it's not the best picture as it's from a distance but there is solid colours and to me it looks a quality picture that can't be taken on your average joe camera

Check out this thread of pics taken on an IXUS 90IS, yes the quality will be up to it. If you want to experiment more so it may be worth looking at a bridge camera, for example a Fujifilm S1000fd. This will give you more freedom as far as manual features go, the camera is bigger though so more to lug about. Not the sort of camera you can take on a night out for example. Alot of making a good photo is in post processing, I reckon a canon compact will give you sufficient quality though.
