hi want to know what this is as broke off from a plastic bit inside the whole which has a thin wire on it maybe an earth.
Think i can glue it back on but what actually is it?

something for alarm?

or possibly an under bonnet light switch as some had them?

Thought the standard corsa alarm one was bolted to the passenger suspension turret?

So that's what that stupid little thing that's always getting in the way is.

Mine's not got an alarm, but does have a sounder , think it may well have had one at some point.

You could try but youre alarm will be dodgy and probly keep going off a lot, just get 1 from a scrappy, cost £1 if they charge you at all

You could probably use one from a car door, and wire it up, might be cheaper to get one of them from scrappy

use what from a car door? sorry still dont really know what it is im looking at lol people got different opinions of what it is but will just ask at vaux for one i think

its a bonnet switch, if your car has a alarm on it then this will be the part that tells it the bonnet is closed.. if you broke it (god knows how really) then your alarm/siren will keep going off for no reason.. that is if it is even wired in.. check where the wires go from the back of the switch.. if they go to nowhere then take the bloody thing off it isnt needed

my elbow had an arguement with it lol, it looks wired in but had no problems with alarm so far ill have another look where it goes maybe take another photo of wiring cos it goes in with some other wiring. cheers people
