Andrew dont think about it too much or you'll never do anything, im concrete evidence of this.
Dont get another dull car, you'll just moan about it.
Get something thats semi sensible & you'll enjoy.
Cooper S.
Or get a 207 GTi, it shares the same engine & is cheaper!!

The only Mini's that are remotely straight are the hot ones (new mini's anyway). Anything else then yes, you are a homo who is paying over the odds for an average car when you could have a much MUCH better one (Fabia vRS) for half the price.

i bought 1 about a month ago, great cars but expensive to buy and crap on fuel if you drive it hard. Handling is good as well

You do as many miles a month as you do and you are considering
a) a mini cooper (petrol I assume, unlikely you will get a D for under £10k)
b) Golf GT TDi

The Golf wins hands down surely for comfort, economy, toys, initial outlay, looks (maybe?), insurance probably, reliability (not sure?)
Just my feelings....
edit - or you could buy my dads focus \/\/\/\/ The money you save on it doesnt matter the fuel economy

see, I've got a mini cooper (company car) and I think they are great. Apart from them being overpriced they are a really sorted car, enough power to get into trouble and handles very nicely.
I'd love to molest mine, but it being a company car I havent
