Gillet and Hicks were at last nights game, and sat together for about the first time in over a year. Also part of their group was Amanda Staveley - she is the one who was negotiating on behalf of Shiek Mo last time round, and she also negotiated the Man City deal.
Rumours before the game (so before they were all seen together) were that a big announcement about the ownership of the club is due either today or tomorrow.
Also heard Rafa has had long conversations with Tevez's agent...!

Got the impression something was going on, you don't see them together very often. Hopefully it's nearly brokered, we could do with it being sorted before ther transfer window opens as apart from anything else neither hicks nor gillet have any money to throw at players this summer, and the sooner there ties with our club are cut they better for everyone involved.
Re tevez, I doubt he would come to liverpool. If he doesn't stay at manure I'd think he would go to spain.

If Tevez came to us he wouldn't play every game similar to Keane.
Our best strike force is clearly Gerrard off Torres.

Clearly, but whatever happens we need more quality than is offered from babel, el zhar, and ngog for when torres and gerrard can't be on the pitch together. We are playing really well going forwards at the moment, but that is alot to do with chasing down man utd hard. We still need some more quality for the tighter games we will be facing again come the start of next season.

Sorry my point was that Tevez wouldn't be happy to be a bench warmer for us....he would sooner go to Spain and start every week.

It depends how Rafa wants to play. IMO we can still have the Gerrard/Torres partnership and fit in another top class forward. The fact is we NEED to fit in another topclass forward, as are fucked when Torres isnt about.
I hate to do this but....
------------------------------------Reina------------------------------------
Arbeloa-----------------Carra-----------------Agger-----------------Insua
------------------------------------Masch------------------------------------
---------------Alonso------------------------------------Barry---------------
------------------------------------Gerrard-----------------------------------
----------------------Torres------------------------Eto'o----------------------

Well it seems Rafa still wants Barry, so if we have to sign him then yeah - although I personally wouldnt. If he costs less than £10m (which he should given its his last year of his contract) then may not be a bad buy.
And Eto easily tops my lists of summer buys

I must admit, I would be very, very, surprised if DIC has anything at all to do with buying you now in the near future.

Last I heard DIC were only going to buy a small amount (20%) and the Shiek was going to invest his personal wealth in the club.

The country itself has felt the crunch majorly, but his personal wealth is still well well well into the billions and his investment arms have a high amount of still profitable businesses.
