They have recently done them on the A127 here. Yes they do keep peoples speed down but they have had a negative effect on traffic flow. Everyone bunches up and its hard to get out of slip roads as no one overtakes and are all in the inside lane.

I hate average speed cameras, I find myself looking at the speedo too much than concerntrating on the road. As for the crossing...
Tunnel FTW!

Cant remember the name of the place where we usually go. Mainly full of students and there are lots of levels/rooms that play differnet music

Agreed, been saying it a while.
Its the only way you can force the traffic to travel at a slower pace.
It works great in rush hour, thats proven. Everyone doing nearly the same speed keeps a constent flow of traffic, less stop starts = less accidents.
However, why they would need to be on say at midnight on a sunday, would baffle me......
Its coming, maybe not now, give it 5-10 years when they've fully covered all legal angles and got better more efficient cameras....

Can't you bypass these though by just swapping lanes, or have they fixed that now?

That happened only on Mk1 cameras, which were replaced years ago now

There are no speed cameras in the Tunnel, nor do they record, they're just for traffic purposes, I know this as a fact
But the bridge ones are gay, I went over it at a little over 50 last night but tbh I wasn't looking for these cameras, but there were signs saying cameras not in use that confused me
Also, they are on the Kent side approacing the Tolls but they also say cameras not in use atm
