Right, this is getting beyond a joke now.

These are the amount of deaths & confirmed cases..

Mexico: 159 suspected deaths - eight confirmed
US: one death, at least 91 confirmed cases
New Zealand: 13 confirmed cases
Canada: 13 confirmed cases
UK: 5 confirmed cases
Spain: 10 confirmed cases
Germany: 3 confirmed cases
Israel: 2 confirmed cases
Switzerland: 1 confirmed case
Austria: 1 confirmed case

This is the worlds population

6.77 BILLION

You are telling me we are on the brink of mass hysteria because of around 160 deaths?

Nearly all being in Mexico where they eat their own shit etc?

Fuck me this world has totally lost the fucking plot.

Of course that's the reason Hammer. I see they are sending leaflets to every home in the country.

What about rather than spenind the money printing leaflets and paying people to deliver them, they clean the hospitals and employ some more nurses?

This has been blown way way way way out of proportion and has been done at a time when Labour are on the brink of collapse and when we get through this media shit storm, Labour will claim they succesfully steered this country through the epidemic.

TWATS

And to make matters worse I just got a global email from our Internal Communications Executive, as follows...

Update on Swine Flu

Many of you will have read recent reports in the press about swine flu. Understandably, you may have some questions and concerns about what measures we have in place at work to deal with this situation.

(name removed) has a well established framework for dealing with any form of pandemic, which has been set up through our business continuity arrangements. The Pandemic sub-committee met this afternoon to discuss swine flu and to ensure that (name removed) plans meet the requirements as set up by the World Health Organisation.

It is important that you familiarise yourself with the information that is being sent to all households from the NHS. This is the most up to date information and contains guidelines on a range of matters from basic hygiene through to what to do if people suspect they may be infected.

The Pandemic sub-committee will meet on a weekly basis, or more frequently if required, to ensure that it considers relevant information relating to swine flu available at that particular time. This will ensure that we can give you relevant and timely advice.

There have been a number of reports relating to travel within the UK and swine flu. Government advice is that no restrictions on travel within the UK are required and so people should continue to use their normal means of transport to and from work. If this situation changes, we will update you.

One of the immediate measures we are taking is to increase cleaning arrangements across the company.

If you have any questions, please email these to Group Internal Communications –

A Q&A document will be prepared.

Pandemic sub-committee ? Fucking hell, I work for a bunch of spastics if a sub-committee has been set up to deal with a media controlled epidemic.

Apparently the symptoms are:
- Feeling sick
- Mild flu symtoms (fever, headache, blocked nose, coughing etc)

So basically just a bad cold

I was in Vietnam when the last big swine flu outbreak happened, no-one back in the UK had even heard of it and there certainly wasnt any people walking round in masks due to it being there, there were no precautions taken and it was gone within a month of the outbreak. Its government instilled hysteria and scare mongering, possibly propaganda too.
