Exactly which is why my plan should be implemented.

if you're in London say, Monday to Thursday in a nice Hotel and paying for every meal through the nose then it soon racks up. I think its cheaper, easier, gives you mroe freedom to have your own place with proper facilities.

What the Govt. should really do is buy one of those failed building projects in central London for a really good price, rent/sell half of the apartments to cover the building costs and then leave the other half empty to be used by MP's when they visit.

Its a win win situation then, as it'll cost very little, and it can be sold for a profit in the future should they want.

I agree about the block of flats being built for them. Nothing to extravagant either

Guess their argument against it would be that it makes it easier for a terrorist strike against them if they are living and working together all in the same places.

They should use the apartments that they've built for the Olympics

(When they're done, e.t.c...)

Was nice to just see David Cameron on the TV with his tail between his legs on the Conservative party election broadcast. It was such a load of bollocks I wanted to vomit.

It is shocking. Even if they have got used to these perks, they are fully aware of who is funding them. I work for the NHS, I'm aware who pays my wages, I get expenses, I don't go eating out at the most expensive restaurants if i'm out on business while someone is at home cleaning my moat, and I can safely say I could never do such a thing, knowing who would actually be footing the bill.

It makes me laugh though, the issue is of MP's expenses and it is decided by the MP's themselves, laugh a minute that.

I believe the second property in London thing is a genuine expense, its all the other crap that takes the piss.

This whole situation is making my blood boil

IMO they shoudl ahve no 2nd homes... how many people work away from home and have to put up wiht it. Im sure hotels would be more cost effective for the time they have to spend in differne tplaces.

The "mistakes" they are making are a nonsense... no-one accidentally claims £15k for a mortgage that was logn sicne paid off etc.

One point though, bare in midn MPs get paid naff all... PM pays about £60k IIRC but it doesnt excuse the behaviour
