saw the first attempt and i agree that it did look like it was done on publisher if im honest, new one however looks far far better than the last one.
I would however change the font as it still looks a bit dull and standard imo.

It's weird, they wanted us to choose projects from an area that we don't really study - for example through my project I was studying cisco and got my ccna1 recently so I haven't really put much time into it that combined with my client who had poor communication and still hasn't given me the info I needed  means that the website isn't even fully finished

Can't you just use a nice ready made CSS template for his website, or do you have to code everything from scratch?

Yet your uni degree etc results could determine your future employment - and you 'can't be motivated' 
The new design is better, but 2 things...
1. The 'mirror' effect on the logo is a bad idea, as far as branding etc goes, it could be read as being Cbh. Rather than Gph. Not good. It also looks a bit naff.
2. The colours man! the colours.
Why do you need such dark blue and stuff the whole screen. Have the blue as a part of it fine, but having it as the whole lot is a bit 
Get rid of the yellow mirror'd logo etc and it'll look better.

In terms of worry about my future employment, contracts are being developed at present for me and a mate of mine to start next month at an IT company 
Yea my client wants the old banner back on there so I will remove the newer one!
It's not the best website out there by any means but I have seen a lot worse!
My client wanted something simple and the business objective was to advertise his business via the internet which I guess is what it's doing!
I am no website developer nor web master and I have only ever made one basic website before so this is fairly new to me - you guys on here who are professionals of course it's not going to match up to the higher standards I don't have the skills/knowledge/experience that many blokes have nor the time!
I am also aware that the colour scheme isn't the best but it's what he wanted!
any more ideas/suggestions?

uni coursework? download template, edit colours, modify layout slightly, remove watermark.
