Sorry I aint been on here much recently guys, but been really busy - and just an update - the car is dead!

Was on my way back from St Ives (on holiday with my old man) and by Bodmin, the car just cut out! Managed to get into a little side road before it stalled!
Recovery people reported it as "bad noise from engine" haha, had a friend of my fathers come look at it today when I was in work, and apparantly its the crankshaft and bottom end gone! Or summin like that!
But been told that its not really worth repairing!

Gutted! As at the start of Feb I spent £500 getting the head gasket and cambelt done!
So now im car less for a while, as I have very little funds!
Got a family friend that works in Bayliss Scrapyard, so hes gonna keep an eye out for an engine for me!
Gonna try and sell it on then I think! Fed up of repairing it to be honest!

Might decide to split some bits off it too if I cant get a cheap fix and it ends up just going to the scrappy!

Proper annoyed at it!
[/rant] haha

Guttin for you mate really as it's got SOO much potential

Why don't you consider the 1.8 conversion? Granted i won't recommend my contact as she's taking her sweet arse time with it but maybe WarrenG or DaveyLC could help you out?

Their very nice guys so im sure they can help you!

Know you want to sell it but im trying to convince you not too

Cheers lads!
Yeah, it was a pretty good holiday though! Had a nice relaxing week down there, mostly on the beach as the weather was stunning down there! Got one hell of a tan! lol
Then car broke on way home and un-done all of my relaxing! haha

But I would love to even chuck a tidy 1.6 in it, as I love the car!! And think its a half tidy corsa, just afraid that I will end up with all the same problems, or something else will go!
And as the car cant drive anywhere now, I am quite limited to where I can go for a conversion!
Would still prefer the x16xe route, as long as it came with some kind of tidy warantee or something!

Otherwise, its gotta go, and god knows what I will end up with! haha

Did you get the link t'other day for the X16XE from Andy1234? Im sure that would be pretty solid Worth asking him and maybe all off us can slam it in. Dominos FTW!

PS My 1.4 results: Warped head, piston mullered, crank bent and basically, like yours, dead

Will re-investigate now!

Thats a pretty good result there mate! lol, the guy that looked at it for me didnt take it apart or anything, but said that it is completely screwed, and he is a top bloke, so believe him!

Will let you know what I decide to do with it soon!

What if you happened to come across a solid 500CC motor bike engine

I've still got my contacts in Vauxhall which still means cheap parts

Yeah people put motorbike engines in, mainly the older small cars like mini, nova like cause they rev upto like 12000RPM and so on, quite powerful too

Yes, everything off his 1.4 would go on. All that would be used from the sport is the engine. All manifolds, shafts, gearbox, ECU and sensors would stay from his car/engine

Haha, yeah nath, thats the guy! Hes a friend of my fathers! Thats mad! Ive bumped into your bro, and you bumped into my car inspector!
Hope the golf is alright though!

I will keep that in mind Dean, thanks mate, should be able to let you know by the end of the week what im doing, as I have been offered a running engine for £100, thinking about just chucking that in and getting rid of it!
Will let you know as soon as I do!

That is one hell of an offer, thank you Rob, I will get in touch soon with you also, as i am trying to find out if the scrapyard offering the engine will chuck it in for me or not!
If they wont, then I will give you a bell and you can earn yourself some notes!
And i believe I would have all tools necessary here, except an engine crane

Thanks for all the help guys! Top group of lads!
Will let you all know whats happening soon!

And that bike engine thing sounds mad! haha

I don't think a scrapyard would specialize in putting an engine in, unless they specialize in it of course.

Hope you make the right decision mate (ie keep corsa)
