Depends what you want to use them for. I've heard they are shit for keeping you up.
Have you tried counting sheep? Actually that is a bad idea. It'll get you horny and keep you awake
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Ste ffs.
Sleeping pattern is messed up at the moment, and just want a good nights sleep. Just been to tesco and bought some, got the most expensive ones, hopefully they'll do the job
Rohypnol would probably work better

over the counter ones are shit, but the ones administered by doctors are immense. your only supposed to take one and this lass i know who couldnt sleep through stress dropped 3 and she looked like she was smacked off her tits, took about 20 mins and she was gone for about 14 hours lol

I use to have some, but the tablets where that big i had to snap them in half, really didn't find them helpfull at all... I found staying up all night, and day and then going to bed at a reasonable time and waking up nice and fresh in the morning and keep repeating that, the best.

Whittie, if its just a temporary thing but you really cant sleep, then go see the doc. He might prescribe something like tamazepam, I was given it a few years back for 3 days and it seemed to work pretty well.

Get some man up prescribed.
I wasn't able to sleep for a good 5 or 6 years of my life and I never took any sleeping tablets.

nytol did nothing for me. i took them a few days in a row and i still couldn't sleep at night but was even more tired in the day.
i had fucked up ribs a couple of months ago and my doctor gave me co-codamol for the pain. they made me sleep very well but they were strong as fuck and you can't get them over the counter.
there was a program on tv last week about sleep and they explained how a hot bath 30 mins before bed helps. apparently when you have a hot bath your body temp increases by a few degrees. when you get out the bath your body temp falls again, it is the fall in body temperature that makes you feel tired and can help lots if you are struggling to sleep.
you can also try excercise. i sleep loads better when i've been out doing 10 miles on my bike.

You can get co-codamol over the counter, wouldn't be the best for sleep IMO.
You need some Diazepam.

i had sciatica last year.
was taking co-codamol for pain (lots of it) and taking lots of over counter sleeping tablets and would still only get 2 hours a night on a good day. even taking 5 of the 1-a-night tablets did bugger all to help.
from this i concluded that the shop bought ones are shite and a waste of money.
