"Wolfram|Alpha (also written WolframAlpha and Wolfram Alpha) is an answer-engine developed by Wolfram Research. It is an online service that answers factual queries directly by computing the answer from structured data, rather than providing a list of documents or web pages that might contain the answer as a search engine might.[3] It was announced in March 2009 by British businessman Stephen Wolfram, and was released to the public on May 15, 2009.[1]"

I had a quick play last night and found out an interesting fact. The amount of energy needed to heat 3 litres of water by 24 degrees is roughly equivalent to the kinetic energy of a cat at highway speeds

Very useful website

EDIT cos I just realised it does loads more stuff than just scientific data

It pulls a lot of info verbatim off wikipedia, it's good to play with but it's only useful for a small selection of people.
