Me and missus are going Cornwall for the week from 13th June. gpta good deal at Thomas Cook for one week, self catering Ł225 ina cottage. Now the thing is Jennie (the missus) looked it up the other night and found out its a....fishing village . Were going to Polperro, now we said to the travel agent that we want something with night-life and close pubs as you do. Apparantly the closest pub is 16 mile away .

Going to Hayle, one of the days to show her where i lvied and spend the day on the nice 3 mile beach. Then one fo the days were going to Penzance and Lands End. Anyone else know what we can do?

Used to go to Polperro when I was little. It's quite nice. But not a nightlife holiday

You could always take your parents!

Im afraid if nightlife is what you are looking for, Polperro is DEFINATELY not where its at!! Was there few months ago, i go to Cornwall every yr my uncle has a couple of places there.
Polperro is your typical quaint Cornish fishing village, few small pubs down the front, its more of a tea room and ice creams typr place. Newquay is about half hour drive, plymouth is about 30-40 mins drive, has good nightlife (well it was when i went out on the lash with couple of mates down there about 6 yrs ago when i was single) also has cinema etc if you get really bored??
In summary Polperro and nearby Looe are lovely places but little nightlife...

I thought Newquay was well over rated. I had a good time, but it wasn't as good as I hoped.

I went to St Ives last year. Enjoyed it.

Newquay is ok for a day, not sure if I would want to be there for a week. Seems to attract all the nob heads.

Been to Bude in the past and that was quite good.
