Ive been before and going again, yes you get the poops because your body gets a shock at the heat, but it would appear Jade and Colin got hit down with a bug. Have a look on tripadvisor, its really helped me out.

I wouldnt say its the heat, more likely the water or food.
Ive been to places much hotter than egypt & never had the shits.
