if you are getting that much as a salary (PAYE) and getting stung for tax you need to change things 
Setup a limited company, contract yourself out to employer. You can then wangle profits out or re-invest the profits. Pay your self a measly wage and normal tax on that.

just stay out the country you aint allowed to be in this country for more than 92days a year to get tax free, plenty of the boys i work with, stay in spain and come home here for a holiday and just work on the rigs when not in spain, its the way to go, i ve only been home for 5 weeks this year, was planning a tax free year but not goin to happen
