I have decided to amp my door speakers which are a pair of Ground Zero's.
This is how ive wired it up (apologies for the ropey diagram!):
Next to the battery is a 60 amp fuse,
This then goes into a distribution block, (for another amp to power a sub at a later date) with another two 60 amp fuses.
It all worked fine for one day, but now it just sounds like the speakers are submerged in water
Its also picking up some sort of interference from somewhere but i dont have a clue where!
The amp isnt on 'protect' or anything.
Anybody have any ideas?? Thanks in advance

No, the power lead is down one side, with the rest on the other mate.
The interference is like a funny whining sound thats constantly changing pitch, even with the engine turned off.

Ive checked the earth, it looked OK, but I took it off and cleaned it up some more just to make sure, but with no improvement.
Faulty headunit possibly?

If you are getting interferance try a different set of RCA's. Alot of people will straight away start banging on about isolators and suppressors when in reality you may just have a duff cable. It depends on what kind of wiring kit you have used but generally if its one of the pre-made kits then the RCA's arent usually that reliable.
As for the speakers sounding "off" try swapping the polarities, and make sure there aren't any filters switched on at the amp.

I once had that annoying sound on my standard setup and it was the fuse in the main fuse area that governed the audio system. It was weird because it sounded like the car was revving through the speakers sometimes.
Im sure its something simple as per the above.

Ive swapped the polarities around and that seems to have done the trick.
I just dont understand how it worked for a day and then gave up! Ill see how this goes. Thanks for the help chaps.

Well it worked until I started the engine. Im now picking up some interference from somewhere which increases with the revs.
Anybody got any ideas? As the RCA's are nowhere near the power cable :s

Get a power cap, it makes the amp more powerful, less strain on battery, and reduces noise.

So a supressor may possibly solve it?
As ive checked the earth and its spot on.

Right, ive got a ground loop isolator on the RCA's now, and the initial buzzing has gone, but a new problem has arisen!
Anytime the CD player is on (with either ignition on or off) there is a high pitched 'squeal' sound continuously.
The speaker wire that goes to the passenger side speaker is running behind the dash and just under the glovebox. If i move this wiring the pitch changes, sort of like its picking up interference from the vehicles loom. Even though the engine is off.
This is blowing my mind lol!
