Know the usual answer to these is yes they are but...

Ive got my car listed on ebay. Had an email and calls from a guy in belgium. Has feedback from buying a car in the uk before.

says he will buy the car, and come and pay me cash on collection.

This a common con or is he probs genuine?

cash is cash imo

I'd have said dodgy at first look, but my mum sold her car on eBay recently and a guy from Portugal bought the car. Direct BACs payment into her account. Bank confirmed, assured there was no way it could reverse and moved it into another account. He sent someone to collect the car and we have never had trouble since

I'd say if he does send deposit and comes over and hands you cash etc. Just say your not meaning of offence but I got to check the notes.

Check them, if their real, happy days

as above if your worried, get a deposit via bank transfer, then when he gets here with the spondoolies, take him to a bank and get it all checked out. Just tell him your plans before he gets her.

If he turns up with cash, count it, check it and pay it in.

I normally take people with me to the bank and pay it straight in.

The weak pound makes your car cheaper for someone in Europe.

If its paid straight into your bank and any notes are fake its the cashiers fault so you are safe. I've heard of people only accepting that way of payment for a car!

There should be no reason why he can't send a small deposit, ask him to do that. If he turns up for the car with cash, fair play. Sell it. No loss if he doesn't.

If you get cash in your hand and the notes are real and he signs the V5, who fucking cares what he does with the car
