Hey...
Just after some advise from people in the know. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I'm after a netbook purely for wireless internet browsing. I'm not wanting to pay for a large hard drive as I plan to save very little on it. Mainly it just needs to be able to cope with basic browsing and watching videos. Having a spreadsheet program is also a must.
All the off the shelf units I've seen seem to have 1GB ram and as you pay more the hard drive gets bigger rather than the ram.
Can anyone recommend somehwere I can spec up a small netbook which would cater for my needs?
All help is much appreciated.

They only come with 1GB ram because thats what microsoft specify as the highest to still get an xp licence.
You won't find any cheap ones with more, you have to add it yourself.
There isn't really any speccing them up either, they are all mainly the same apart from screen size or normal/ssd hard drives.

I've got an NC10 with 2Gb ram. Quite a smart little netbook. Love the battery life on them.

Ah ok. Is it fairly easy thing for those to do that aren't massively computer minded?

pretty much yeah, remove a panel frmo the back (think you need to remove a couple of screws) then you either add a module or remove the first module and add the new one

As willay said, you should be able to do it if you don't know bugger all. It's my second NC10, dropped and broke the other one. The extra ram just helps it cope with various bits and bobs
