they look quite nice, in the flesh, i was wondering if 7" wide wheels cause any probs?

they are 16" with ET45 wearing 195/45/16 yoko rubber

and will be lowered 40mm

yeah no probs mate, i had the exact fitment on my old 16" wiv a 40mm drop, NO worries!!
