how adjustable is the alignment on a corsa? get it set too far toe out= boss turn-in alittle bit oversteery if you adjust the back (don't think you can do that on the corsa) shags tyres though

Dunno about that, Polo and the RS1800 had independent rear and they are very twitchy at speed always cocking a wheel.

Corsa feels a lot more planted at speed with a decent setup IMO.

Mine is pretty neutral, lending slightly to oversteer. I very rarely get understeer.

My corsa with everything on, and a mate had an EG civic with coilovers. He could literally run rings around me on a roundabout. His was so much more planted.

Plus Top Gear tested the New Type R (with a torsion bar, same as corsa rear set up) and the old EP3's (independant rear) and the EP3 out handled it easily.

That doesn't really make sense, putting higher pressures at the front will make it understeer more and lower at the back will make the back more grippier = more understeer.
Motorsport springs what height? what poundage?

My mates got a civic 1.4 with springs and his is shit compared to my corsa, i do agree, they feel very planted! Corsa do handle to a extent, i can beat alot of cars round the round abouts.

it does as running tyre pressures lower at the front probably means the sidewalls are folding slightly, running higher rear pressures to loose grip is a bit mad imho you want to increase front grip not reduce rear to improve the turn in.
as for the springs i couldn't possibly say without checking the rear corner weights, checking the axle leaverage rate on the springs and then seeing how low he wants to go. my estimate would be a 6" 325'lb spring though, would be quite a hard ride.

your asking all these questions about handling....

you have to be a half decent driver to begin with, you may have a half decent set up for the road but you may jsut be choosing shite lines etc...

If your keeping it just for road use, I think my setup is fairly good.

Bilstein Sprintlines -40mm (old school now)
Goodyear Eagle F1s on the front
Yoko A539s on the back (for now, not great underbraking)
Whiteline rear ARB, with the standard one still in place too
Standard front ARB

Seems fairly neutral, there's a little bit of understeer at low speeds, and the back end's fairly steady, it's only ever gone once, it was on a roundabout, after a big ass bump but I've got very little interior too so that won't have helped that one. Even when it went I didn't have to correct, just kept the steering as it was and hit my exit perfectly

Believe it or not you actually want to use the side wall as a contact patch, its not just the tread that does the work.
I found the best tyre pressures for my corsa was 28psi at the front 24psi at the back, when I went on a test day.

Firstly I'd try tyre pressures, then take your front arb off and try that with tyre pressures.
