i've seen this apprentiship with the AA and im very interested in having a go.

but the only thing stopping me is people keep telling me to do sumin like pluming, saying there is more money in it.

But I love cars, not pipes! is the money really that bad once your qualified? what kind of doh r u expecting to get?

yah i know there is much more money in plumbing, but what a bout mechanics.

i like the idea of the job, but i don't want to turn 30 and have no money to bring up a family or sumin.

when i had probs with my car i got talking to one fo the AA mechanics was a decent chap and told me all sorts about AA. From what he told he i got the gist that they worked awfull hours and pay was not that brillaint. And they were under a lot of pressure.

I got a mate doin plumbing and from what i gather he is enjoying it and his money is quite good for an eprentice.

But at the end of the day its what YOU enjoy

Yes get into plumbing. You'll make very good money doing that.

plumbing is where the money is hiding.

as for mechanic, if you love working on cars as a hobbie, doing it for a living will ruin your passion for it. IMO anyway

At the minute everyone is saying plumbing is the way to go but it will just be like computers a few years ago until everybody started to study it and a degree in it is realistically two a penny now

i got my full qualification in motor mechanics 2 days ago and im earning £200 a week before tax

i work on workshop parts at a vw dealership and they r on about 15k a year fully qualified

pipe fitting is good i know someone who went over to pakistan for 2 days work at an ICI plant and got 24k
