It just goes to show, amongst all the talk that Manchester Utd are the biggest, most powerful side of the modern game, Real Madrid go and pull this off, just goes to show their ultimate power in terms of getting their way.

It's all the same for all the big teams when you think about, I could say " It will help Man Utd with a family of billionaires backing it up".

It is completely irrelavent for the fact that it actually will make the club money, and not cost it a penny long term.

Real Madrid today presented new signing, and übertwat, Cristiano Ronaldo, to an adoring crowd of 80,000 retarded Madrileños in an extravagant ceremony which involved the Portuguese star being shot out of a Golden cannon, through a flaming hoop made of €5 notes and into a cage containing two Siberian snow leopards before being strapped into a jetpack and hovering above delirious fans in the famous Bernabeu stadium.

Real President, the megalomaniacal, Perez, announced to the gathered imbeciles, “This is the biggest thing ever to happen in the history of mankind! The evolution of man has been building to this moment, the moment when Real Madrid, the most successful football club in the World can annouce that, despite having won nothing of any consequence for some time, we can spunk our money up the wall with the best of them, in fact better than anyone else and we don’t even need rich Middle Eastern despots or Russian gangsters to do it. Are you watching Manchester City?”

The presentation lasted over an hour and involved the ex-Manchester United player showing off his ball juggling skills, signing a small boy’s balls and healing several dozen specially chosen invalids.

It was the biggest event of this kind since Maradona’s transfer to Napoli almost exactly 25 years previously, and Perez will be hoping that Ronaldo will replicate the Argentine superstars success, although perhaps without the drug taking, the weight gain and the general hanging around with ‘bad sorts’.

Fiorentino Perez also used the presentation as an opportunity to unveil Real Madrid’s new kit which is made from pure white platinum leaf with gold stitching and costs €25,000 per shirt. He also denied rumours that Real were seeking to become the first footballing nuclear power and that planned pre-season trips to Iran and North Korea were purely promotional and had nothing to do with attempting buy atomic weapons grade plutonium.

No, by my comment I meant that the Govt. are actually helping to fund them. They are backing them for this 800m euro loan or whatever the huge figure is. They rezoned their training ground when they got in financial trouble last time during the Galatico era allowing them to get planning permission and sell it on for over 500 mil euro.

Lucky them then, if the govt. helped me, I'd take it and the power which goes with it. The fireprotection industry would be my national playground.

Of course, Im not expecting them not to take it, but my point is more they are backed by the govt. who helped them wipe their debt last time all this happened, and will no doubt help them do it again.

If the British govt. helped Manchester Utd, they would the most powerful team, but they don't, so they aren't.
My point is Real Madrid are the daddies, given whatever the circumstance, or whoever gives them the finances.

Of course they are, they have an 800m loan that they'll probably never have to pay back.

With that much even Luton could become the daddies.

Luton are a feeder club for the local Sunday League teams, I doubt a govt support trust will help them.

I still doubt it, I can't see how 800 metres would help Luton.

IMO they still won't win anything unless they buy a replacement for Pepe, Cannavaro and back up for Marcelo. Cannavaro is an Italian legend but even he aged enough to become weak, and Pepe is just wreckless.

I think if Metzelder was to have a sweeper aside him, they'd win the league.
