My laptop wont boot up. It says:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32 \ CONFIG \ SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the orrigional setup CD-ROM............

I dont have one so how can i fix it or would it be best to get a new laptop? how much would a repair shop cost?

Yeah get a copy of the Windows CD.

Alternatively, send your laptop to me and I'll fix it for you for a small fee.
