IF i were to ride my mountain bike in the road (with full safety gear etc) but get it all geard up and stuff so that i could do 30+ mph......what could/would the cops do
(i no its impossible, just wonderin whether speed limits applied to non motor driven vehicals)

they can, i remember seeing one in the BIKE TRADER, that had been clocked up at 125mph, it was going for 2 grand though

I used to do 50mph+ Did race the national downhill circuit and have also riden abroad. Pretty mad, but with 7'' of suspension travel, disc brakes all round and body armour it isnt too bad. Had Oakley tearoff MX goggles cause the flys/wind really does make your eyes water at that speed

I had an indicated 43mph downhill in Scotland a few years back. On a new road leading down to a Castle. about 2 miles long and a shallow downhill. Fastest on the straight i can reach is 27mph.

i got 46 out of my bike down a slight incline on a really long road. i could barley seeas i had so much water in my eyes. also sh*t myself when a bus pulled out as well. luckly i have hydrolic disk brakes on my bike.

ive dun about 45mph on my road bike down a long steep hill, it feels well fast. it was pretty scarey as it was in the wind as well, so i had to slow down cos i was blowing all over the place!
a funny experience tho!
