My car tax is due at the end of this month (July) and i'm going away for 2 weeks on the 31st.
I want to wait till we come back before i get my tax..will there be any backlash to me waiting for 2 weeks without getting it/SORNing the car??
Can't see a problem myself

Potentially, yes, as there won't be a record of what has happened to it.
Why not pay for it now? You'll have the disc before you go away.

Sorn it before you go. aslong as no one drives it while you are away it will be fine. Then just tax it when you get home. Sorn can be done online in 5 mins.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Echo the above advise,SORNing is free and easy online, then do the tax down the post office
