General information -
It's the latest reg they did in the Mk.4 xr3i's being a H reg, meaning they gave it EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) instead of MFI (Mechanical Fuel Injection)
If you know anything about these cars (I'm guessing you do if your looking at it now), you'll realise how hard it is to find one in good condition, as with all fords, they rot easily. This makes finding a good condition one a hard task!
I am an enthusiast of old cars, but old fords especially. I came along this beauty a little while back and luckily managed to scrape the money together to bring her home.
It has 80,000 genuine miles which is backed up by its service history which isn't far off full service history, previous m.o.t certificates are here too. It has only done 3000 miles in the past 6 years and i've done 2600 of them.
It comes with a ford binder which includes the manual and everything including a poster from when unleaded petrol was just being introduced!
I have two keys for her too.
It has electric mirrors, windows and a manual sunroof which is a luxury to have in an older car! The sunroof has no rot on it and has no leaks which is very rare.
The interior is near immaculate!
Since Buying the xr3i I have done a few things listed below:
* Service (oil and filter change, fuel filter, air filter and spent a lot of money on a set of red racing KV85 Magnecor HT leads which are a lot thicker than standard)
* Uprated the speakers all round to Alpines (used the old existing locations, didn't want to cut anything)
* New Brakes all round
* Uprated suspension - Gmax 60mm shocks and springs (the seller on ebay said they were 30 but it turns out they were 60mm when put on)
* Rs turbo Recaro interior
* Rs turbo skirts and arches
* Clear side repeaters
* Clear front indicators
* Chrome Strut tops
* Chrome battery cover
* Chrome bonnet stay
* Ashley Four branch manifold (mild steel)
* Ashley Back box
* White clocks
* Also comes with an RS turbo bonnet and a red spoiler which haven't been fitted
I have all the original bits that have came off the car as I wanted to keep them incase one day I wanted it completely standard.
Underneath is amazingly clean, never been touched with a welder, it's a rare sight.
It has approximately 7 months m.o.t and 2 months tax.
Bad bits:
Unfortunately every car has them.
It is an extremely good shell compared to most and a good runner for the year, shown by the mileage and it has obviously been looked after from new.
Bad bits (will try and sort these before selling):
* one rust bubble 2 inches above petrol cap (hasn't broke the paint yet)
* 5p sized dot below rear right light (paint has flaked off)
* needs doors as somebodys tried breaking in (cheap on ebay as you probably know, quoted £30 for the pair at the moment from a guy in cumbria)
