Nope.

We have HD in one room and got the old Sky+ box put in the other room on multiroom. Neither are plugged into the phone line and we dont get double billed.

I agree with cosmo, I've got 4 boxes in here, none have ever been plugged in, I have never been charged anything.

All of ours are plugged in (via shitty extensions)
when someone yanked one out of the wall and didnt put it back, within 2 months sky were on the case and double billed us, this happened about three times.

We got the charges back, but had to phone up and complain, its a pain in the arse, if John and Cosmo's arnt plugged in then fair enough, but i wouldnt risk it for what its worth, it doesnt do any harm being plugged in.

what if you dont have a phone line in your house? just a mobile

my ex gf had sky on all their boats which did not have regular phonelines

I have a normal box right now and havent had the telephone line plugged in for over a year...

No problems and no double bill.
