Right I am planning to get in contact with a few car magazines fast car etc... just to show my portfolio and see if its possible to get some kind of work experience with another photographer etc.... just to get more knowledge and get my foot in the door....

so the question i ask is what would you put as a cover letter. im not really good at these things lol...

(it will be a brief email. and ill just link them to some pics too i guess)

They'll want to see work and lots of it, and it must relate to what the mag is currently doing or plans to do.

Most of the photographers are freelance though, it's less likely that you'll get work experience with them because as sole traders they're not really in a position to spend time teaching people when they should be on the job.
