You can't get a virus on your pc by simply opening an email, Viruses usually come in .exe files and when clicked on to use the virus gets out to play.

but it cannot redirect you from opening an e-mail unless the host is using shite code. Big names like gmail, hotmail, yahoo, won't allow it to redirect you whatsoever.

I don't mean directly linked, you open the email, it has a link that you follow. Most emails of that kind wont use a well known host like that anyway, none I've received ever have.
