Me and the mrs were thinking about getting Sky + for our new house but the only reason we would be getting it is for the record feature. We had freeview back at home and it suited us fine, E4 every now and again and ITV 2.
Are freeview recorders any good, they seem to be around the £130 mark, so compared to Sky+ £39 for box, £30 installation, £30 to install phone line we dont need, £17.50 a month basic package plus £12pm line rental it will have paid for itself in one month....

I know its professionally repaired but he has good feedback and its only £45.

One of the best things we bought my old man had one like above but it died after 6 months as with any mass produced electronics some will be bad and some good. We had Matui one that died not to long ago and picked up a humax 9300 from currys.

I bought my freeview recorder is asda's for about £70... nothing special, it's only 80gig, but I've had it a few years now and it does the job just fine!
My brother has had a topuptv thomson one (like in the link posted above) for a year or so and thats a pile of sh*t. Been back for repair twice I think
