Can spend £100 on graphics card if you need bragging rights to say you can run games are 1920x1200 etc
£120.
£170 with card that will destroy what a console can do.
Cheapest ps3 ?
Games are free from a torrent, if its good enough then buy it. 
Mine is game-capable!!
had the old pc already and just upgraded the said items for £120 and then sold my ps3.

Hardly a fair argument when you say all the games are free because you illegally download them 
Secondly your base system (without case and all the stuff Nath says) still comes to nearly £250, not far off the PS3! Hardly a saving!!!

Sound card on the motherboard is fine! only need 24 bit.
Its hd card mate HDMI so tv is for sound.
Yeah so no blue ray but its not been used to great affect on ps3 anyway.
Too early I guess.

optic mouse - 10
Was given my base system 
But also graphically its quiet a bit better on pc. was shocked tbh.
Maybe the port of the game but who knows, cod was so sharp on the pc and everything was a lot more clear.

a decent PC can cost ££££'s, i spent £700 on the innards on my pc and that was 2 years since..
and it wasnt top spec then, it just depends on what you wanna spend..
if you had £300 to spend on a pc it would be shite compared to a ps3

Im not saying my pc is better in terms of raw power.
But it can do anything the ps3 can do (apart from blue dvd of course), play any games on high settings.
So for me ps3 is an expensive version of my pc that is very limited online and in terms of modding games etc.
I don't see any advantage to owning the ps3 over my pc.
Ps3 is yet to prove anything, expensive gaming system that does the same as the 360.
