As above guys.
Got a 1997 Pre '97 model 1.4 8v Vegas - Its a 5 door...
Anyway, It seems to use a lot of petrol for some odd reason - 80 miles to £15 and its petrol light is on already.
Its been using a lot for a while, which i thought was a little odd.
Anyway, It always ran VERY cold (Under the 90 marker), so the other day i changed the Thermostat and put new coolant in etc.. - It now runs at about 91 / 92, which though better, i feel should be a little higher...
Anyway, There's no Engine Managment Light on, No symptoms that i can tell, other than obviously the still slightly low temperature, and rinsing petrol.
I was hoping the fuel issue was down to over fuelling where it was running so cold all the time, but clearly not as of yet.
Any help on this would be great, perhaps anyone with similar problems..
That or i'm gonna leave it a while and 1.6 16v it - It'd be cheaper to run!

TBH my Dad has this engine in his Corsa B Breeze and there awful on petrol even on a run.I think/put it down to the fact that because it's a 8V it has to work harder therefore it use's more fuel.

Really that bad though?
It seems 'a little' better on this top up, so perhaps its running a little nicer now..
Perhaps if i ever get some cash i'll give her another service and see what happens then.
Its probably well over due anyway, and needs some TLC so worth a look into
Cheers

Just the usual cheapo unleaded from whatever station i'm near!
I'm totally skint you would not believe - Finding a job hasn't been easy.
One of my mates gets Super trade discount though, so i might carry out a full service, ie plugs, leads, oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter, and at the same time fix the squeaky brakes!
There's a knocking on the back i can't seem to trace too, and i think the rear shockers are dead....
One HUGE list for a 1997 Plate car.. But it only has 69k on her...
