I've been looking to get a road bike for some time and have been around to local bike shops - I had my mind set on a Scott or Cannondale and have £750-£1000 to spend.

I was in Decathlon last night and noticed their "own brand" B'Twin bikes. They seem pretty good for the money - does anyone have any experience/knowledge of them or recomendations for other bikes?

I was specifically looking at these two

Tbh i would personally say take a look at the dolan bikes

Maybe something like the Mythos, or even the hercules if you can stretch it
We do custom builds on them:-

Also you will find that they have gone up quite abit since last year due to shimano's 40% price increase. So now for 900 youre getting alot less than you were last year (because last years £900 model is now £1100) if that makes sense!

Is it worth going for 105 over Tiaga? - that seems to be the main difference between the £800 and £1000+ bikes

(as well as frame/component construction material)

I've got a Specialized Allez Sport

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/allez-sport-2009-road-bike-ec016879

Next years model is out now but basically the same I would imagine.

Had the best groupset on it for the money (Shimano Tiagra) at the time I bought it...
