Hey guys,
I own a corsa sri 1.4 16v (x14xe) and it has a limp mode issue, if you rev it above 4k it will go into limp until you turn it off and on again, i know most of you are going to say get it on a computer but im just a bit worried incase its going to be expensive so can anyone shed some light on the situation as to probable causes?
Its standard bar a decat and a piper backbox atm with 73k on the block
Cheers guys
Nick

If its an X14XE you can do the paper clip diagnostic.

it could be your egr valve. either do the paperclip test or better still get it down the garage on a fault code reader i think its £20 and it will identify the problem.
mine does the same thing but u have to be over 4k revs for a while for example on a motorway but thats because my egr valve has been blocked off. to be hounest it did it when my egr valve needed cleaning the first time so could ust mean yor egr valve needs cleaning
