It's a joke, go on a singing contest to become a big artist, the moment you become an artist you can mime anyway, may as well mime from day one.
Miming is a right joke, i'd love to go to work tomorow and pretend to do my job.

I remember thinking a few mimed last year, havent really watched it this year yet.

The Alexandra mime was fairly obvious, did they turn her mic on half way through though when she started ad-libbing? Then turn it off again 
I couldn't figure out if the group song was mimed, it seemed to be sometimes but then when those twins jumped and landed you heard the vocals jump so I dont know, the over 25's at the start of it were shocking though
Stacey  And Robbie Williams saying 'every home should have a Stacey', that was pretty funny
