whenever me and the mrs go out for weekend we tend to plan the day around food/drink
always choosing areas with nice pubs, bars and restaurants
does anyone else do that ?

With the ex it was pretty much based around what she wanted to do

Not necessarily days out, but all of our weekends away are based on Food and Drink.
We've been to Amsterdam solely to go to Fifteen
London to go to Fifteen [Jamie Oliver] twice
London to go to Rhodes 24 [Gary Rhodes]
Edinburgh to go to Tom Kitchin's [Leith] and the Dungeon restaurant at Dalhousie Castle
Mid Wales to go the Ynshir Hall
North Wales to go to Plas Badegros
etc etc; real foodies made all the better by the missus' job and the staff rates she gets at all fo the hotel's in her group

Bank balance usually helps decide then as above, usually revolves around a bit of shopping then out for food and/or drinks. This weekend (being pay day and all) will consit of a bit of shopping on saturday morning, chill out in the afternoon then sit and drink while she spends 3 hours getting ready for my brothers birthday night out out. Sunday will be spent in the bin/watching football.
Shit this has turned into a 'what are you doing at the weekend' post

Very similar to mine and the missus' trips away which have recently consisted of the following:
Bray on Thames to visit The Fat Duck
Edinburgh to visit The Kitchin
Cornwall for a Seafood Course with Rick Stein at his Padstow Seafood School
Seaham Hall which is only just down the Road but worth visiting for it's Spa and White Room Restaurant
The Star Inn at Helmsley

Ours are usually around a club night, 9/1- times I get dragged around that city shopping, even though it's meant to be a pleasurable trip for both. I hate shopping end up tense across the shoulders etc.
