The first one, as there's nothing to silhouette the sun behind I'd have waited until it disappeared completed so it wasn't so distracting at the side of the picture. I'd have also tried to do something with that telegraph wire. The poll isn't so bad as it does give an idea of foreground scale but the wire is right in the way. I'd have also framed it higher to get more sky and less dark dull ground. There's also a tree creeping in to the picture on the right, this might have made an interesting part of the foreground and may actually have obscured the sun as well.
The second one is nicer as you've more colour in the sky but it could still be framed higher, less darkness and do something with that bloody telegraph pole as well hahaha.
