Ive had four Novas, and this one makes it five, after I swapped my Cavalier for it.

Anyway.....

Its was originally a 1.2i, but has had a GTE/GSi 1600 8v engine fitted (E16SE)

I bought it as a non-runner, as the top end was tapping/knocking very badly. It lasted 200metres and the cam seized.

So the plan was to park it up and sort the engine.

Over a couple of weeks, i replaced the engine with one that had been sat for ten, yes TEN years without turning a key! I fired a new belt and filters/oil and dizzy in it and it fired up on the first turn and has been strong ever since!

After a couple months of abuse/use i decided to put it off the road for a bit as a few bits were looking a tad sorry. Mainly the inlet manifold gasket was leaking. Also it was needing new suspension components, thus was a bit vague on a straight road.

So......

Heres how it looked after fitting the engine.

After a while i got offered a set of speedlines for cheap, so snapped the up and sold the Cav slabs

Not long after this, i put it off the road to work on it.

I sold the speedlines in favour of some Compomotive MO's

As you can see, whoever painted it, didnt remove the skirts so its blue behind them. This will be adressed....

I had a mad notion and decided to strip the interior, as it was the best anyway, plus i live in town now so the car is just a toy

As the interior was blue, i had to paint it (i like Irn Bru, but this was a bit too far IMO)

I then set about fitting new bottom arms with polybushes and brand new balljoints, and also polybushed tiebar mounts, Also lower rear springs, and painted my drums..

I also fitted a better looking backbox

I will keep updating as i go...

Feck you would believe how bad the paint job is!

Well, to be fair, on the flat panels etc its ok, but overspray etc is really bad!

It will be sorted!

Paint skirts black and fit them.

I was having a mess with the hammerite the other day and did a rear spat of the skirts, and, well, it looks ok?? Will flat it off and give it a coat of gloss black and see how it looks. . . . . .

Trial fitted it to see how it will look too
