Basically Come to start the car today. Turned over fierd but cut out done it serval times got it to a stage where it was running bliped the throttle started to missfire and banged. but idle'd fine. Went up the road 1st gear boged right down no acceloration then all of a sudden it will go. took it for a quick motorway run, eml light will come on occasionally at high revs, come off the motorway to a junction, stopped went to pull away bogged down again then it went.

Had a quick check of crank sensor all ok ( 4 months old)
swapped icv's over had a good spare.
ingnition coil is 2 months old
spark plugs and leads 2 months old.
throttle body is clean no clogged up with oil
dizzy cap is 6 months old

i was thinking afm + ats pissible going down but still unsure on start up why it did that.

any ideas? thanks

ive found the problem...the ecu was full of water!and is scrap basically and the loom is scrap i tryed repairing it by tracing the wiring back but its not starting the eml light doesnt come on i know the wiring is okay as i did it step by step and didnt touch the conversion wiring bit. tryed 2 ecu's and does the same now, so ive brought a new engine loom and trying to find someone who can come and wire it all up for me.

Haha i was going to say when i just read this check the ecu is connected and connections is clean, my mate had this problem, the rubber bung comes out from the bult head and allows water to enter straight over the ECU.... he cleaned the connectors with a light wire brush and wd40, worked a treat!
