A mate of mine has £220 to spend on a PC tower, which he will be using for the internet and gaming. If anyone can help, please post your best spec for £220.

Cheers.

£220 isnt worth the efort! Most game on the net will need a decent machine with a decent connection. that wont buy shit.

case - £40 -£50
Mobo - £90 -130 for anything worth having
poccessor - £50 - 500 depending on what u wanna spend and inetl or amd.

oops weve gone over the budget, and no HD, Modem, GFX card, monitor, PSU, RAM, Sound Card, Heatsink or OS!

NOT WORTH IT!

£220 LOL will just about buy a case and cooler from me.

but they are very nice cases, 7 fans, 4 with variable speed and temperature read out etc on the front case.

oh and then you will have to have the in case CCFL lighting, oops over budget and you havent got the MB or processor yet.

but you do get a 420W PSU, and I can go bigger if needed.

As I said, it's not for me - it's for a chap at work. The only other thing he wanted was a CD-RW.

Cheers for your help AustinPXX, I will have a chat with him tomorrow and let you know.

austins pc will easily hav enough power for gaming, 2ghz (best games only require 700mhz) 512mb sdram (again most games about 256) only prob is the graphics card will need changing, though you could get a better one for about £60 which wouldn't put him too far over budget.
