Had an item, not insured, value of £20, delivered by First Class mail.
Back of an envelope they put through the door said, 'left parcel behind flowers', checked behind all flowers and the item is not there. Likely been stolen or something. I would have more than happily collected the item from the mail sorting office up the road.
What do I do?

Nothing you can do, you didnt pay them extra to keep it from getting stolen.
Biggest legal protection racket going.

No but they should have returned it to the sorting office like they always have done, its 1 mile up the road.

I was waiting for a reply like cosmo's
as said ring and complain but they wont do anything on your behalf as it wasnt insured .
I've had packages left in rediculous places and come home to them, had a dvd boxset turn up which was pretty much just sitting in the middle of my drive under the back bumper of my car so in view of anyone walking past

No, it wasnt insured because it was actually at my door. It didnt get lost or stolen in transit. The postman has been negligent.
