I've had to do this before when PVD stole about a grand from my credit card. Tried contacting PVD to sort it out initially but got no where so got in touch with my credit card company and had the money back pretty quickly.

Have you bought anything from play.com recently? Just read the thread and wondered, as I ordered an xbox game and they sent me the order details for 25 other people. I was really pissed off so I sent a few emails complaining asking if my details had been leaked too and they just sent me a rubbish automated responce. I will not be shopping with them anymore. Anyway just thought with the similar name that someone could have got access through their clear lack of security!

I thought to start with it was play.com even though I haven't bought anything off them for a while. Then when I looked them up realised it was a different company.

Its was nothing to do with Play.com

Any one of the companies he has used int he last year or more could have passed his details on to someone else.

it will take some time for the bank to sort it, they will request proof of your authorisation from the vender who they will then give a reasonable amount of time to produce this. When/if they cant you get your money back.

It's easier/quicker to get your money back if it's a credit card, as the card company just do a chargeback to the retailer.

With a debit card it's not so easy/quick. That's why I tend to buy things online or whatever with my credit card rather than my debit card, and just pay the balance when I get my statement in the post.

With the DD guarantee if you have ANY deduction that you disagree with FOR ANY REASON then your bank is obligated to return the money IMMEDIATELY to your account.

Then it can be investigated.

There is no ifs, buts, maybes, delays etc etc

Your bank returns the money AS SOON as you tell them to.

Were you not one of the ones who tried to buy a 'cheap TV' when really they just wanted your details?

It was when PVD went down the shitter. They took my money and didn't send me anything and refused to refund me.

You must remember that whole sorry tale

Nope, I cannot believe they took £1000 off your card without you even buying anything.

Pete was more of a crook than I thought.

I ordered some wheels from him and suspension. But the stuff never existed and so never turned up. Then he refused to refund me
