got a set of oil pressure and oil temp gauges got everything but the wiring for them is there a certain type that you have to use? or is any wire good?

If you pop into motorworld \ halfords the wire you buy there has different grades printed on the front and what it's to be used for.

I popped to Halfrauds - their 27amp cable said on the back it was suitable for ammeters.
Would that also be suitable for gauges in general then or not
